The Tip of The Shore

Sailing into Cape May, NJ we were in awe.  We saw dolphins, sea turtles, sea birds and even a whale. Cape May has a great but sometimes crowded anchorage next to the Coast Guard training station. We enjoyed the National Anthem and the sounds of reveille throughout our stay.

The Lobster House is a quick dink ride away, and has free docking. We ended up at the indoor bar drinking “Frasier Margaritas” perfectly replicated by our bartender Georgia.  We devoured oysters rockefeller, shrimp cocktail and complementary cheese and crackers. Around 4pm the people watching gets in full swing.  People flood the bar hopping to snag a good spot in the dinner line, window seating goes quick.

Most of our trip we worked aboard on projects. We did get a day of fun in historic Cape May. We started out at The Little Store Bakery, the bearclaws and mocha smoothie are a perfect way to start the day. We used an Uber to get to the Washington St. area. We found Uber to be much faster and cheaper than the local taxi. Looking to escape the hustle and bustle we ducked into Fridas Deli, what an awesome find. We met Fakhridad a world traveler with inspiring stories.

After lunch we discovered a few more hidden gems. We hopped on the trolley and for $1 pp, we saw the boardwalk, beach, and victorian architecture. Always following our stomachs we ended our day with maple bacon peanut brittle from Cape May Peanut Butter Co. and ice cream sandwiches from Peace Pie.

We had a splendid stay in Cape May, but back into the green to find a new place to play.
