The pace of life has been rapid on the Gypsy Soul, our excitement for the next port has kept us busy commissioning. While we tidy up our affairs ashore, we have been organizing, sailing and playing.
We anchored in Annapolis harbor just in time to enjoy the sunset. Tired from the day we radioed the water taxi, $4 per person each way, well behaved dog free. There is also plenty of zodiac parking in the harbor. Our first stop was Mangias, sitting at a table outside remanisant of Italy. We enjoyed local beer and buffalo chicken pizza. We chatted with the owner for a bit, and learned they make everything from scratch. The word on the street was their lasagna and meatballs are fantastic.
We ended our night at Annapolis Ice Cream Company. All ice cream is made right in the shop and you can taste the love! Definitely worth the walk up Main Street.
Up early from the anchor drag alarm, the sunrise was breathe taking. As with any new vessel we are still working on “getting the Gremlins out”. So we are still frequenting Rock Hall.
Sweet Cheeks treat store is a gem, located right next to our favorite ice shop. From cupcakes to truffles they make it all. The salted caramel turtles and bacon truffles are amazing!!
While in port we continue to meet amazing people. At sunset work stops for the day. The sailors gather to break bread, cheers and tell stories. We spend the evening absorbing the energy of our laughter. Around 9 “the sailors midnight”, we retire to hopefully do it all again tomorrow.
Excited to see the new post. Glad you get to see those beautiful skies–good subjects for painting.
